The Vitreoretina Society of Bihar (VRSB) was founded in 2018 by the visionary ophthalmologist and former head of Dr. R.P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, Prof. R.V. Azad. His noble mission was to unite all vitreoretinal surgeons of Bihar under one vibrant umbrella — fostering knowledge sharing, professional interaction, and mutual learning across the state.
On 29th September 2018, VRSB marked a significant milestone as the first state-level vitreoretina society in India to be officially registered. Since then, it has blossomed into a dynamic forum supporting ongoing education, scientific exchange, and professional unity—greatly advancing retinal care in Bihar.
The Society conducts regular Continuing Medical Education (CMEs) and an annual conference each year—creating consistent opportunities for learning, networking, and growth in the retina specialist community.
“Founded with the aim of building a united, educated, and empowered retina‑care network in Bihar, VRSB continues to bring professionals together for the betterment of patient care.”
